Chris Bray
Republican Candidate for Bell County Commissioner, Precinct 4

  1. Fiscal Conservative, Proven Leader. I DO NOT support “Tax and Spend” policies nor increased tax rates

  2. Retired Veteran & Previous Commander

  3. Retired Federal Civil Servant (Previous Fort Hood Training Division Chief)

  4. Bell County Resident For Over 28 Years

  5. Local Small Business Owner For Over 25 Years

  6. My Hallmarks: Decisive, Responsible, Responsive, Dedicated, , Fair, Open-minded, & Inclusive

  7. Anti-Crime/Anti-Corruption. Doing What Is Right Even When Others Aren't Watching

My Position On Local Issues:

  • Low Taxes. Taxes should be no more than is required to support infrastructure. I do not support a tax-and-spend philosophy.

  • Spending. Responsible, Fiscally-Conservative and prioritized spending (without gold plating).

  • Anti-crime/Anti-corruption/Public Safety. “Defund the Police” is a failed, poorly-contrived, liberal social experiment. Honest, tax-paying Americans and crime victims pay the price for this folly.

  • Do the crime, do the time. Americans should be able to feel safe in their communities.

  • Military Support. I support a strong military and Veteran’s issues. Soldiers defend our country and way of life.

  • Belief in Parents Rights. Parents voices and concerns should be respected by school boards. Parents should have input regarding what is taught to their children without being labeled and treated as terrorists, especially when a significant issue is raised, such as Critical Race Theory.

  • Community Responsiveness. All constituents deserve a timely response provided to their concerns.

  • Responsible Growth. Growth needs to be planned, not a sprawl.

  • I support Zero-based budgeting (ZBB).  It is a method of budgeting in which all expenses must be justified for each new period. The process of zero-based budgeting starts from a “zero base,” and every function within an organization is analyzed for its needs and costs. The budgets are then built around what is needed for the upcoming period, regardless of whether each budget is higher or lower than the previous one.

  • I support Revenue Neutral Taxes.  The term revenue-neutral implies changes in the tax laws that result in no change in the amount of revenue coming into the government’s coffers. In other words, the tax proposal is revenue-neutral if it neither increases nor decreases tax revenues when compared to existing law.”

About Chris Bray

I have lived in Bell County since 1993 and established roots here after leaving active-duty military service in 1993 after Desert Storm, having served as an Army Field Artillery Officer.

I worked as a contractor on Fort Hood for years, fielding numerous systems to Fort Hood like AFATDS and Shadow UAV, while deploying with both 4th ID and 1st Cav to Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I am also a small business owner in the community and previously owned two Quiznos sub-shops in Killeen. I was President and founder of the Toasted Subs Franchisee Association (TSFA) and eventually led the TSFA (Google Chris Bray and Quiznos), comprised of 800+ franchisees, in a nationwide class-action lawsuit against the franchisor due to alleged, corrupt practices by the franchisor. The action was eventually settled out of court.

I also served as a Department of the Army Civilian at Fort Hood as the Training Division Chief, overseeing annual training contracts valued at over $50M and the annual training of thousands of soldiers. During my civilian tenure, I also served a tour in Afghanistan as the Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security at Bagram Airbase. I retired from Civilian Service in 2020.

I currently reside in Bell County, TX and serve as President of a local small business. I am an active member of the Bell County Republican Party and staunchly support their platform.

I am a Conservative, Christian Republican, and Patriot who believes in diversity and inclusion while considering all opinions. One of my strengths is the ability to negotiate and acquire stakeholder buy-in for controversial subjects. I firmly “Back-the-Blue” and belief in law and order, moral standards, accountability, and a societal structure. I oppose corruption in any form and have fought against corruption my entire career. I oppose cancel culture and firmly believe in dialogue, discussion, and discourse.

My philosophical approach to any problem is … “There is always more than one solution to a problem. The challenge is picking the best solution that benefits the majority of those affected.”

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, a Master’s Degree in Business, and multiple awards for both military and civilian service.

I would greatly appreciate your vote for me as your next Bell County Commissioner for Precinct 4 in the General Election on 8 Nov 2022.
